S:L (Super:Lightness // Studio:Landers Gordon)
My name is Landers Gordon, I am a Master of Architecture graduate from the University of Waterloo. My thesis work investigates Super:Light architecture in the Canadian North, using lightweightness to provide high performance homes in remote communities. I received my Bachelor of Architectural Studies from Carleton University in Ottawa.
Super:Lightness is an obsession with lightweightness in the pursuit of speed, efficiency, and joy. It is a philosophy inspired by my love of cycling and hiking that extends to the practice of architecture. S:L (Super:Lightness // Studio:Landers) is defined by simplicity/austerity, reconfigurability, and of course lightweightness.
Studio Super:Lightness returns to this inspiration, creating equipment and garments for the outdoors. Studio S:L works are the result of technical material research and hundreds of days and nights in the outdoors.
